A heartfelt thank you to @triplejfarm_ny and @farmerjawn_ once again for their generosity. The eggs went fairly quickly. It was truly overwhelming and the amount of people that showed. The only regret is that there were not enough for everyone.

The star of one of our newest specialty sandwiches this new cilantro/ sun dried tomato biscuit is made with our classic Brown Butter biscuit dough (best biscuits in Brooklyn) infused with a double ground tomato cilantro mix. The first grind marries the roasted garlic, tomatoes and finely chopped cilantro leaves. The second grind incorporates a spice blend and blanched, finely chopped cilantro stems (pro tip never toss your cilantro stems out. They’re tender, full of flavor, and are amazing in soups snd sauces and even better finely diced and used like chives!) come in and try the new avocado sandwich while they’re here!

Our classic roasted potatoes are beloved, but we here at brown butter are not known to rest on our laurels so this weekend we are debuting THREE new potato preps for your dining pleasure. Our Disco Potatoes are coated in melted cheddar and topped with the gravy that makes our chicken and gravy biscuits so delicious. Our garlic parm potatoes are anointed with an herb garlic butter and topped with Parmesan and our spicy chili potatoes are coated in our signature A-5 Wagyu beef tallow chili oil ( made with a six week aged black garlic) and topped with a refreshing aioli. These items are currently dine in only, and although they aren’t technically on a “secret” menu- it’s one of those IYKYK 👀 sort of vibes so come on in and ask about them this weekend! While supplies last! ( spoiler alert: they won’t last.)

Haitian cremas is a traditional drink served specifically throughout the Christmas and New year holidays but can be enjoyed at any time of the year. It is mostly made of coconut milk, evaporated milk, condensed milk, sweet spices and essences and rum.

The holidays are just not the same if you don’t have cremas at your holiday gatherings or just having a sip on your own.

As a kid growing up on the island of Haiti, one of the most exciting things about the holidays aside from “Soup Joumou” was getting to have a shot of cremas or liqueur (flavored syrup and rum) with your cake. Everywhere you went it was offered. It was an exiting time.

This year I am happy to invite you into this revered tradition and share a bit of our culture with you.

Despite all the adversity our nation and people have suffered and continue to suffer, we remain positive and optimistic that better days are coming. There is nothing better than holiday celebrations and old traditions to help lighten things up and keep us uplifted.
